the piston that came out of this bike has about a 8mm hole drilled in the rear of it. I thought there was a couple of large ports supposed to be there. just need to see whats supposed to be in this engine. 84 kdx200. any help at all appreciated. Freight

You're talking about the hole on the intake side, yes? Earlier pistons generally had just a small hole drilled there. Later pistons usually have a window. I would guess that your 84 stock piston would probably just have the small hole drilled on the intake side. There is not a lot of information that I have found regarding the amount of difference this makes, but I can tell you whatever difference there is is not noticeably on my 89. I have run both, and there is no discernible seat-of-the-pants difference.
