It's just scuffed up. But I can get the sleeve and it installed for cheaper than getting it plated and the sleeve well last a Hell of allot longer.

Re: la sleeve
That's not quite right. An aftermarket re-plate should last as long as you own the machine, barring any catastrophic failure. A sleeve will require honing / boring with each new piston install. Also, by the time you pay a shop to bore and press in the sleeve, the cost will be close to a strip and re-plate. Also consider that in a plated cylinder, it is impossible to bore and install a sleeve without affecting port timing. Then you have to also worry about the liner shifting at some point in the future. Honestly there is zero benefit of a sleeve over plating unless the cylinder is damaged to the point of having to be bored or welded to repair it.

It will cost me the same for the sleeve and and labor as the plating. He said he can match the sleeve exactly to how it is now. Plus the cylinder is egg shaped. Measurements are from 65.2-66.5. I have two engines. Might do one each way and see the differences for myself.

Re: la sleeve
no way in hell it is 1.3 mm different.
initial cost may be the same, but long term is more expensive.
Kawasaki has been doing it for 40+ years.

Sorry, 66.2 66.5. I believe it was. Like I said I have two engines. I'm pulling the other one now.
