What is the Thread Pitch of a Tire Valve Stem??

Does anyone know what the thread pitch is for a tire valve stem? Is it metric or SAE? It seems like they are all the same.

I think it is less than 1mm thread pitch. I don't have any SAE taps to try it on, so I will have to take one to Lowe's sometime.
