Help Identifying engine year

I purchased an engine that is stamped KHI DX200EE023946. I was told it is a 94. Can anyone tell me how to uncode the engine VIN?

I am thinking 1993. It might be identical to 1994, but check on partzilla or elsewhere to match up part numbers.

1992 starts with 006001
