Hello guys, my name is Dio i’m From Greece and this is my first post in this forum! Thank you for the tons of info about our beloved KDX!!!
I recently bought a KDX200 , seller claimed it is 96 model , VIN number doesn’t exist only, only a 12-digit frame number in the form of DX200G-0008 numbers... I will post the correct number tomorrow when I take direct photo of the frame.
Can you please guys give me some insight in case you understand from the pictures which model is it?
As I have started doing amendments and can’t really order parts unless I know the exact model of the bike.
Many thanks and greetings from Greece

Re: Please Help me Identify my Bike
It looks like a 1989 to 1992 KDX 200 Model E. Great bike.

Re: Please Help me Identify my Bike
Welcome!
Congratulation on the KDX.
From your post... "DX200G-0008 ". Would you believe that it is... (drum roll please) a "G" model. Yes, it is a KDX200-G. (rear passenger footpeg mounts and metal tank mean it is not an "E" model. I think all the 1989 models had the lime green spring.
I own the Kawasaki Model Identification Guides. Here is your bike. The picture in the manual is not of the lime green version.

Re: Please Help me Identify my Bike
Thank you very much guys!!!
It’s really great being here in the forum and thanks for having me!
The frame number is DX200G-000821
Didn’t manage to go the garage today but tomorrow I’ll have some updates, the bike has an old Japanese sticker from the one side and the frame number from the other side and that’s all about it ! Nothing else typed on it.
1989 sounds a bit rough to me to be honest as I bought the bike 1k euros from an ad claiming it’s a 96 model
I’m 39 years old now I used to ride this bike 20 years ago and now I wanted to have it again, start building it and spend the rest of my life with it.
Should I sell it and look for a newer model?
The bike sounds perfect I’ve put the best lubricants u can possibly find, ngk, k/n filter, ordered a new 35kaihin carb and the list moves on
Many thanks for taking the time answering me guys!!!

Re: Please Help me Identify my Bike
Do you have a local Kawasaki dealer? There was a CD that had the manuals on it. I have most of them in print form, but it is a lot easier on the computer.
Look for a local dealer or an OEM parts dealer that will have the 1989 KDX200-G1 parts. Some will be the same as the "E" model, so many of those are still available.

Re: Please Help me Identify my Bike
Unfortunately there is no Kawasaki dealer in the area but I will look for it online Incase I find it
I just think that G series is a bit too old but I really like the bike and don’t want to sell it.
From my experience then, before we buy a beautiful KDX we should first ask for Vin or Frame number!
Thanks for your help KDX Garage!

Re: Please Help me Identify my Bike
You aren't the first to buy a bike, then later find out it is not what the previous seller said / thought. Some sellers just pass on wrong info from the seller they got it from.
