Help cylinder removal- main valve not coming out with rod pu

Help,
Pulling cylinder off 1990 kdx200 but can't get main valve out. Something is binding with rod pulled to the right, or all the way out. Left side kips seems stripped, is there a timing issue, cog misalignment? Pulled up idler gear 2nd to the right, no effect.
