Hi All,
I'm trying to get information on how to add lights to my 87 KX250.
Would a KDX stator & flywheel fit in an 87 KX250 to power a headlight?

The stator and flywheel from a Tecate 3 wheeler will bolt on. Kawasaki offered this in kit form to convert the KXs for enduro use. The Trans from the Tecate bolts in also giving you a wr trans. That was also offered in kit form.

Thanks...
I'm assuming the magneto & stator need to be from the same year to fit correct?

I believe 85-86 for sure. Not sure when the Tecate came out I think it was 83 or 84. I have a brochure for a red 84 Tecate so I know they were out in 84. Not sure if the Tecate 4 wheeler parts would work. I had the wr trans in my 86 KX250.

The stator and flywheel are available though ricky stator however, it's the CDI box that's the challenge.
I think there's one on ebay for $185.
Problem is that they know it's a rare find. That's why the price is high.
