83 84 85 kdx help

guys forgive my ignorance! i picked up a 1985 kdx 200 for 200 bucks with a bastard front end on it. i need the front brake hub for the drum brake set up. i already got hosed with the wrong parts once and need some info. my research says 83 84 85 front brake drum hubs are all the same. i haven't found anybody that can tell me that a 83 will fit an 85! any info you have will help me purchase the parts i need to complete this rebuild. thanks, alex

The 200 only had the drum for those three years, it went to disk in 86 with larger diameter forks. If you have the wrong backing plate then it either must be off a 250 or 175 or maybe a hub off a 250 or 175. The 200 brake arm has a hole in the end and uses a pin to fit the brake cable.

Thanks. I think we figured out last night that the rim I bought for a kdx200 was advertised incorrectly. The hub on the rim I have measures about 5/12" where the shoes would contact the hub. The brake assembly I bought is much smaller than that. After looking at 100 different pics It seems the wheel hub I have would be for a bigger 400 or 250 Kdx klx. I guess I'll buy an 83 rim and hub and use my current brake assembly. If I can figure out what rim I have for sure I'll just sell it since I can't use it. Thanks alex

I have a rim with hub and spokes of an 84 I believe, have to double check for year and condition. I'm sure it would need bearings. $25 plus shipping.
