All have responded to my email requests with sorry... Several have said that part goes pretty quick... I'm down to one salvage yard that "might" have one... [emoji1374].

Julien the one listed is for a 89-90 KDX... Part number 13234-1089, I need part number 13234 1092. The one listed would also have to be machined to work.
I'm going to send them another email but I think I'm going to make the one from the H series work.

In '91 they went to a two lip seal configuration vs a single lip seal. They may have changed the shaft diameter for the new seals. You can probably use the '89-'90 shaft, and just match up your outer seal measurement and the old shaft measurement to get two new seals to fit. But that's just a guess.

with either shaft I'm going to have to have it machined to the proper size. Based on the pics, I think I can make the H series work... if I'm seeing the pics correctly (yes that's a big "IF") the H series shaft is shipping today, so I'll by the end of the week if it will work.

I dpnt think so. The seals are interchangeable. It is common after a seal failure in 89-90 to go with the 91+ double seal parts and those fit with the 89-90 shaft just fine. I'd put money on that shaft fitting without machine work.

Yep, I used the two seals on my '90 water pump drive. BTW, I do still have it.

The "h" series shaft has arrived. The input shaft is the same size and length as the "E" series shaft. The gears are also the same. The output is a lot larger and longer. The machinist here at my work said that shouldn't be a problem. He'll chuck it up in the small lathe to reduce the diameter, cut the length and drill and tap the end for the bolt
Here are the two shafts side by side
If this works it will be a $10 repair, plus I'll buy the machine shop some donuts.. (a little goodwill goes a long way)

If all goes as planned the engine will be back together and in the frame this weekend... I'll install the electronics and may try to fire it up...

I need to smell some 2 smoke from the KDX...

The shaft was not sliding into the bearing as easily as I would like, so a little clean up with some emery cloth and a little persuasion she's in and all is well... Just make sure to rotate the engine back and forth when installing the side case, to ensure the waterpump and powervalve gears all line up...

Good job. It helps having connections.
