1999 KX Parts

Post by Bouillion »

I have a several parts off a 1999 KX 125 that I picked up to do a hybrid then decided to go with a 2005. Other than maybe the forks, I don't think I could get much for them so, before I put them at the road for garbage pickup I thought I'd post here to see if anyone wants them. You would have to pay shipping.

Here is what I have;

swing arm - already cut for the kdx engine with new bearings and seals.
frame - front motor mounts have been removed and it has been blasted. Its starting to accumulate surface rust in the shed.
Swing Arm/Shock Linkage - I think I have it all? - No rear shock (my son has one that he would sell)
Subframe
Triple Clamp? - I may be damaged? I sort of cut into it with the dremel trying to remove the bearing. If you know someone who welds aluminum the little spot may be repairable?
Air box
Seat - needs recovering
Front and Rear Brake Calibers - need complete rebuild
Front and rear brake lines
Front and rear tire assemblies

Frame is by far the heaviest.

I'm going to try and sell the forks on ebay since I put new seals in.

The parts will stay in garage for no more than two weeks then they go to the road.

P.S. The bike when I picked it up, had spent a few days under water following hurricane Rita!

I'm on vacation this week and will be in and out of town. If I have time I'll remove the tires and try to weigh the assemblies. The rear tire looks new, not sure if you want it or not? Front is not so new. My son just shipped a couple off his KDX however, I'm not sure where he shipped them to? I believe one rim assembly shipped for around $30.

awesome...just when you have time...no rush at all!...if you think the rear tire is in fairly new condition go ahead and keep it on there to save the hassle of taking it off...

bulabula09,

what state are you located? I'll try to stop by the shipper on Friday to get a quote to both pack and ship them.

They want $165 to pack and ship the 2 wheel assemblies? Seems high to me? They weigh 40lbs together. I got frustrated trying to remove the front tire so it was on when they weighed it. Also, the rear spocket and front and rear brake disc are on. With the exception of front tire, everything else is in decent shape.

Let me know.

It was really no trouble, remember I quit before getting the tire off (didn't try real hard). The shipping place was close to my work and they don't charge for quotes. I'm not messing with ebay, they clipped me for $80 off my sale of the KX motor.

Fixing to put the extra stuff at the road for garbage pickup. I need the space around the house.

Last Chance

Post by Bouillion »

Ok, just thought I'd give anyone who may be interested one last chance to claim any of the parts I have left before they go to the road for garbage pick-up.

As you may have noticed, looks like the package and shipping cost on the wheel assemblies are cost prohibitive? ($165 is simply crazy) Sorry, but I'm to lazy to remove the tires and don't have a suitable shipping container, I MIGHT be willing to try to remove the brake disc and sprocket if someone is interested in those items seperately?

What's left off the 99 KX-125 besides the wheels are;

Swing-arm already cut to accept the KDX-motor complete with bearing kit.
Frame - which has front motor mounts removed and has been blasted. (P.S. due to it weight, it may also be too pricey for shipping?)
Airbox
front and rear brake lines and brake calibers which I pulled completely apart (would need new o-ring/seals)

Oh, I also have a service manual for the KX.

If I have a shipping box the right size laying around the house I'll see if I can pack it myself. Otherwise, I'm going to let the shipper pack it at your expense. In either case I'll include the shipping bill just so you know I didn't make any money off you. I would need any shipping cost above $10 in hand prior to shipping. Anything less than $10 and I would trust you to do the honorable thing and actually put the check in the mail.

I just hate to put it at the road if there is anybody out there that might be able to use it.

P.S. My son also has a rear shock in excellent shape he bought off ebay before we decide to go with the 05 model. He is trying to catch HIS money back, not sure what he wants but its the only item FOR SALE.

I would be shipping from Lafayette, LA. 70508
