using KDX radiator overflow on hybrid?

I've not seen anyone doing this - or have I missed it?
Just not necessary or?

I don't think it is neccessary.

My 220 had one but it was always empty.
I don't think the 200's come with one.

no, the 200 comes with one too.
I haven't seen any kx hybrid with one though.
Some remove it from their KDX too. So must be fine to run without.

Yeh, likely just not necessary. The 200's did have them in the left rear side plate.
Sometimes you'll see bikes that have retrofitted an overflow tank.
I think I'll try to keep it on my hybrid just to be different and overly safe on long hot rides - cant hurt...

Running without the overflow is fine, but the radiator will always be a bit low from the coolant that escapes due to expansion. The overflow container generally empties itself when you fill it, but it must do it's job of capturing the escaped coolant and letting it back into the system when the bike cools off, because my radiators never get low with the tank in place.

been running mine in 95 + heat today without the overflow and no problem so far. The level is about half an inch lower in the rad.
