GPS/Helmet Cam
Hello. A couple of electronics questions. I just got a Garmin etrex Vista HCx personal navigator. I was wondering if anybody has one of these, and if you have it mounted on your bike. Also, I have an Oregon Scientific helmet cam, and im wondering where the best place to mount it is. Thanx, Rick.
Yes, they really do let me drive the Train!

I would mount the cam on the side of your helmet... seems to be the best place I have tried.
Got any topo maps of H&M?

I was thinking the side of my helmet too. Seems to me, if it were on the top, I would wack it with a branch or something. I know they make bar mounts for a gps, but i havent found one for mine yet..

I have the Etrex Vista Hcx. I have it bar mounted with the RAM mount. I purchased the RAM mount from http://www.themountdepot.com . I went with them because they will sell all the individual pieces of the mount so that you may customize for your application. I wanted the short arm. The arm that comes with the standard set up is long and places the unit to high for most folks. The prices are pretty good also, but the freight is a little high. Look around and find a place to buy just the pieces that you want or need. If you don't mind reading in ORANGE there is a really good thread over at KTM Talk in the GPS section. Here
