I bought my KDX Labor Day weekend of 06. Its a '95 200 that I stole for $700. It needed a little work, but I still feel like I got a good deal. I rode all that weekend in northern Michigan and had zero problems with it.
When I bought the bike the kick starter boss was worn down, so the kick lever would open past 90 degrees. Also, the choke would not stay up, and it was missing a tooth on the front sprocket.
So far you guys have made me spend a ton on this bike, and I am sure there will be more in the future. The list of new mods is as follows:
New sprockets/chain (13/47, DID o-ring)
Fredette chain guide
New kick starter boss
Fredette MX style kick starter
FMF Gnarly woods pipe
FMF Turbine Core II muffler
Delta VF3 reed cage
01KX250 front end
Black front (UFO) and rear fenders (Maier)
New side covers and radiator shrouds (still waiting on rad shrouds)
Black gripper seat cover
I plan on buying an AirStryker and having the head redone, but I don't know when that will be as I am trying to buy a house right now. I need tires and tubes before spring though, so they will be next.
