Fredette sells a Fork Damper Holder for $25 (Photo 1). This is an extremely reasonable price for a tool that is essential for disassembling many front forks, including KDX & DRZ forks. It was possible for me to weld up my own (Photos 2 & 3). But, for people that cannot weld or have access to welding, Fredette's "wrench" is a very good purchase. If you make a copy of Fredette's "wrench" using threaded bar stock and nuts, you'd use red Loctite and or jam nuts and come out at about the same price as Fredette's price.

Re: FRP Fork Damper Holder
I have one of his tools and the OEM tool. His is GREAT for the conventional forks! One side is 27 mm for USA 1995+ and the other side is 30 mm for 1986 - 1992 KDX200.
