brief planned but unannounced downtime

Post by Julien D »

I took the forums down for a bit today to get the platform updated to the latest version. This is in continued efforts to resolve the intermittent sql errors when fetching data. I'll be keeping an eye on performance here. If you happen to see an error feel free to list it here. Please include the SQL error number when doing so.

Thanks so much for being continued members of our community!

Thanks for keeping the forum running for us!
I'm still getting an SQL error every now and then
"General Error

SQL ERROR [mysqli]

Too many connections [1040]"

I got it when loading a post, as well as when submitting one. Not every time though.

Thanks!

Ok, I have resized the server with higher end CPU, although it is still a "shared CPU server". I increased maximum connections in SQL to allow for more simultaneous database lookups. We will see how this goes before I give up and just build out a completely new server. That would take a couple days of downtime and I do not want to go that route if I can avoid it.

:prayer: Thank you, Julien D. I have no clue how to do what you're talking about. If it can't be fixed wit a hammer or wrench, then I can't do it.

There are definitely some times when I wish I could use a hammer on it!

Seems to be working perfectly well for me! No SQL errors today. Seems to be loading plenty quick as well.
