Hybrid- not quite KDX, but in the spirit

Post by karlgp »

I haven't posted on here in years and years, but I thought I would show you guys something cool

This is a Blaster motor in an '02 KX125 frame. I never would have attempted it without previously doing the KDX motor in a CR frame, and I never would have done that without this board, so there is that.

Been riding a lot lately, cleaning up a 9 mile loop at the house.

I'll go out, ride to where I haven't cleaned it up yet, whack with the machete for a couple hundred yards, get beat up for the rest of it.
Each time the cleaned length gets longer...

This bike is a good runner. The motor ain't no KDX, KTM, or GG- just an old school air cooled two stroke

I don't think I'd want to race it but that's OK. I keep having to remind myself I'm too old for that anyway!

If we're anywhere near the same age, then you'll relate to my common expression.

"At my age, I don't ride to win trophies or break bones."

I'd love to put a blaster motor in something. Or the RD twins even for certain things. Air cooled 2 stroke stuff is nice for simple it can be. Had an old DT400 I should've kept around. Heavy and poor brakes but you could still loft the front end over whatever in the woods.

Replacing struts on a Mitsubishi Raider this morning

I'm too old for that, too!
