Wiseco. wtf?

If they made the OEM Kawasaki SK Pistons version of the 220 piston still, I would gladly be running those for longevity reasons as far as tighter piston to wall clearances and less risk of seizure, but the Wossner forged pistons are very very excellent quality and a good modern alloy composition, and I'm fairly certain are significantly less prone to the wide swing of expansion and contraction that the older forged pistons from 25+ years ago had. I appreciate Wiseco greatly, are even based out of my home state here of Ohio, USA, with everything made in-house as far as pistons at least, but I much prefer the German/Euro engineering and build quality of the Wossners.

I use a Wössner piston in my KDX 220. It doesn't get run too hard. Based on this, it's expected to last a long time.

I ran Wiseco pistons in my mega pumped 2-stroke twin race bike. Wössner wasn't on US race engine builder radar back then. This was in the period that Wiseco pistons were not doing well in large displacement 4-stroke racing engines (most notably in Kawasaki). So, I wasn't thrilled with having Wiseco pistons, but they did not fail imy application.

I think Wössner makes a slightly better piston than Wiseco. Or, possibly, I'm biased based on 20 to 30 year old race track observations.
