Good day to all

Post by EvanB »

Hi folks- Just found the site and been reading. Thought I’d join in!

Thinking I need a dirt bike.

Met up with some old friends last week and borrowed a KDX to ride some trails. First time on a proper dirt bike and on trails in about 30 years. Had a blast.

I liked the KDX I was on, ‘04 220. Plenty of power for my old and fat, slow azz. lol. E start sounds fabulous, but I think I’ll start out with a (comparatively) inexpensive bike and see where it goes.

Some really sharp looking KDX’s on this page and sooo much info.

Thanks all.

Welcome!
The 220 is an awesome engine for woods riders undoubtedly, & is my favorite KDX engine... A ported KDX200 H-series (95-06, same era as the 96-05 220R) will do similarly well. The E-Series (89-94) KDX 200 I like the power of more of than the H-Series KDX200, but parts are easier to come by for the H-Series although the E-Series has great parts availability for it's age vs most other bikes of that era.
The 200H as stock vs a 220R or 200E has less low end power, but is faster overall in the higher RPM range - completely fine for less technical terrain
