Re: KDX in National Enduro Series
Ok, I finally got the chance to ride on the local MX track. I think I’ll do a more complete write up in a few days, but short answer, YES I can tell the difference with the head mod. The bike is even stronger all through the Rev range, low to high. One thing I noticed is I was able to pull 4th gear easily where before I would have shifted down to 3rd.
Can’t wait to get her in the woods where she belongs! This thing is starting to feel more like a 250!

Sweet! Lucky for my wallet I don’t have 220. I’d have to do RB it.

Yup, the RB mods make a very noticeable difference across the entire rpm range. I know my bike, with both mods and others, out pulls my buddy's YZ250X in the sand washes and hangs with it on dirt roads. I think that's saying something!

Re: KDX in National Enduro Series
Went out to the local MX track with Travis, my National Enduro buddy. Travis used to race MX before I persuaded him to try some enduros. Track was a bit muddy but ridable and actually began to dry out nicely later in the day. We had a blast. I only went down once to which Travis said to “quit looking at the ruts “! He’s right of course.
I continue to be impressed with the RB mods on this bike! No, it won’t run with his KTM 250SX, but it is all I want for sure!
Man! I’m outta’ shape! I was sore as hell the next morning!

Re: KDX in National Enduro Series
Bad news:
On 8/23 I crashed hard in a practice ride basically blowing thru a corner and into an unseen gully about 15 or so feet deep. They had to airlift me out and I understand I was within 25-20 min of bleeding out. I have a severely broken pelvis and multiple internal injuries (source of the bleed). After 26 days in hospital, much of it on a ventilator, am recouping at my daughter’s home. I will not be allowed to put any weight at all on my rt foot for another 9 weeks or so. Quite frankly I am lucky to be here at all. The docs tell me it was touch and go for the first 24 hrs and they aren’t sure why I never coded.
Suffice it to say my racing career is over, period. My new titanium reinforced pelvis cannot sustain this kind of injury again. Right now I’m not certain I’ll even ride again. The docs tell me to expect a full recovery though so maybe I can putz along an easy trail sometime in the future. Haven’t decided if I’ll keep the KDX or not yet.
I did want you guys to know though that there will be no more posts about riding the national enduro series. I am so glad I got to do that last year and enjoyed reporting in along the way. You guys keep on brapping, just be very careful, please.

Re: KDX in National Enduro Series
That is so terrible to hear doakley. Hope your healing goes well and maybe you can ride again, just not racing. I can relate as I have broke a bone in my ankle while riding. While not near as bad as your injury, it still takes a toll on guys our age, I'm 69. I'm not planning on doing any more racing, but I still would like to try and keep my son in sight on the trails. Again, the best to you on your recovery. Keep on brapping and stay green!!!!

So sad to hear about this!! I hope you heal up quickly and are able to get back to some sort of riding, even if it is mild trail riding. As I've said before, thanks for sharing your racing adventures here on the forum!

Re: KDX in National Enduro Series
Thanks, guys, seriously. KDXG, I’ll be sure to pass along your comment to my daughter and her husband who is a surgeon and has been deeply involved in my recovery. Between them and my wonderful wife, I could not be in better, more caring, hands!
