Hey all, can anyone confirm that a 89 oem spark arrestor will fit 92/93 machines? Still questing for a quieter bike configuration and there's a good price (40$ shipped) for an oem '89 silencer on the bay.

Yeah, 89-94 silencers will all interchange. As far as I know they are the same bit. If it's the OEM unit, they are actually very nice.

I was looking up some part numbers and since I was there, I checked the part numbers of the oem spark arrestor. It's the same number from 89 - 94. I agree you should be good to go.

Re: E series spark arrestors
Update: got the used oem silencer installed - what a difference! I can think when I'm riding again! Took it out for an hour or less to play in the sand. Blasting along in 4th/5th on a 1/4 mile wide wash for miles. It was like power boating. Lots of shallow stream crossings, and I could loft the front wheel over them - in sand, 3rd or 4th gear!
I'm so impressed with this bike now. Listed my DR350 on Craigslist shortly thereafter.
It does look like my silencer needs repacking. What do you repack it with?

Awesome... so glad to hear you've found your grove with the 2 honey... The OEM silencer really is quiet. I repack mine with household insulation. Wrap it as tight as you can put a few wraps of tape around it. Put everything back together and enjoy.
Selling the DR 350. WOW!!! That gives you more money to rescue another KDX... [emoji41]

Re: E series spark arrestors
Glad you got it going. Household insulation will work or you can get a kit for $10 that should last for a few repacks for the 1989 - 1994 spark arrestor, as the packing is only 3" or so long.
