oil problem

Post by Matifalcon »

Hello everyone. so last weekend my kdx started to leak oil from the right side, trough the clutch lever seal. i checked the pressure vent and was ok, the seal probably broke but the thing is that sometimes leaks and sometimes does not. so my question is if anyone knows how the pressures inside the clutch cover works? :hmm:

There should be no pressure in the clutch cover, it is vented to the atmosphere.

i checked the vent for obstructions and it's fine, the strange thing is that sometimes leaks and sometimes don´t.. that´s why i´m asking if there´s something that can raise the pressure as high as to drop half of the oil..

if it were over filled, and you're riding at high rpm a lot, it could send more splashing around and possibly out the vent .

check your case seals?

:hmm: will check the seals.. the oil level its ok (had to refill twice) doesn't seem like "normal" splashing, it is more like a lot of pressure that broke the seal and started leaking a lot.
by the way, thanks for the replies!
