My E series

Post by Buckydevil »

Got my E series earlier this week, hasn't been on the road since 1996 & used as a field bike since
Image
Would like to eventually get it back on the road with daytime MOT so I don't need to trailer it to trails and woods
Thanks to info from the site instead of going straight out on it I gave it new plug, oil,Filter,
drained old fuel & cleaned the carb, changed exhaust packing the greased chain etc.
Then bit of paint & polish it now stands like this

Got couple of things on order to tidy up a little more but quite pleased already
Pissed off that it's raining here now as is typical, wanted to get out for a ride but after my scrubbing I don't want all my work going to waist.

Nice bike! Before you ride, I would re-route the front brake line to its proper location inside the fork versus outside.

Also, you should invest in a case saver as it appears yours is missing. Cheap little bit that earns it name!

If someone finds the bin that all the discarded kickstands go into they will make a fortune!

Hi Sullyfam, yes I'm aware of the case saver now & on the hunt
Am I correct on this being the same on KX etc ?
Also for the front brake hose I didn't have a key the size for the brake calliper removal
Will get it sorted.

I had no idea it wasn't the standard one but I thought something wasn't quite right when looking at other
Owners bikes here.
It has no identification on it- Sorry.

Looks like you are missing the boomerang shaped protector that goes over the front sprocket. It stops your trousers (yes I am a brit) from potentially getting caught in the chain.

Hi buddy, yeh I'm aware of the missing boomerang :-)
On the hunt for one but they aren't cheap, just waiting my time for that & couple of other parts at the right price
Just enjoying it on some light off road fun and through woods at the weekends, hasn't missed a beat so far.

It took me about 2 years to finally get one at the right price on eBay.

Very nice looking bike. Enjoy.
