What is this Carb?

Post by mowerman53 »

I have just put the carb off my 89 E1 back to back with the 90 E2 carb as i was going to use the best slide (condition) in my 89 carb. slide on the 89 is so much bigger than the 90 so i have checked the carbs for identifying marks.

The 90 carb is a PWK V564 which checks out to be stock 35mm carb.

The old 89 with what appeared to be odd jetting is a PWK V886 and i can find nothing to tell me what it is.........does at least point to the strange jetting!!!!!

Anybody out there that can tell me what a V886 carb is? bigger than 35mm.

How do i tell an airstriker from a standard PWK, i may have just got lucky and the PO paid for that??

As usual your help appreciated.

On the KXRiders.com forum there is a post that contains the following:
94 carb KEIHIN PWK V886
Another source indicates the following stock jetting for the V886 that year:
92064-1142 JET-PILOT,#45 - 92063-1370 JET-MAIN,#165 - 16009-1762 NEEDLE-JET,NIEE

So it would appear that this is from the '94 KX 250.

Hope that helps.

As a KX 250 I assume carb is bigger than 35mm too!

This might help also. Check out picture and description of how to tell the AirStriker from the Standard PWK.

94 kx 250 has the big body pwk38 air striker. it has quad vents. A rather badass carb, although 38mm on a kdx might be a bit much. you should have four float bowl vents, two coming out sideways, and two going up.
