need KIPS help
Recently bought 1991 KDS200. It had no top end power when I bought it. PO told me he just replaced right and left subvalves, bought thought the lack of top end power was due to main center exhaust valve. I took cylinder off today. I think he had timing off. I cannot get the KIPS apart. I have Kawasaki factory and Cyclepedia manuals as well as other resources, but I cant get center valve out, and therefore idler gear or either subvalve out. Anyone willing to talk over phone and help me with this? Much appreciated.

Engine is in frame. But I have removed the cylinder from the engine. I actually just got the kips system apart. I think the PO just had all of the timing totally screwed up. Doesn't look like there is a problem with any of the Parts. 1 question I have at this point, there is a little c clip type device on the main center exhaust valve. on mine it just falls right off. should it be held on somehow?

It's prevented from falling off by the cap that goes over top of it. Engine doesn't need to be removed to work on KIPS. Even the jug doesn't need to be removed if you're really good

You have to upload to a picture host first then post the .jpg link
http://www.photobucket.com
http://www.imgur.com to post pics on the fly. Just upload and retrieve the link. Only thing is you won't have a library of previously uploaded pics without making an account.

Circlip goes in the groove. It locks the valve in place with the bushing. When the little cover goes on the end, it has a little cup at the end holds the circlip in place

Oh ok. I think I understand. Hopefully all will work ok as long as I reassemble correctly.
