Hi there. My names Dave and I picked up an '81 KDX175 from a friend who hurt his back a few years ago and it's been parked in his garage since then. Tyres are shot, rear shock leaking badly. I put in fresh oil and fuel mix from a hang up container and it started 3rd kick. Runs really nice after unsiezing the clutch.
A couple of questions I hope you guys can help me with:
The wiring diagram shows 5 wires from the generator only on mine the green charge wire is missing which goes to the rectifier and battery charge. The battery wires are there, as is the rectifier which are hanging loose. There's no battery either. I removed the flywheel but cannot see evidence of the green wire. Could this be a different generator fitted? I would like to run a battery on the bikeif possible.
Also the top sock linkage has a lot of play in it when on its stand and the rear wheel is raised up and down. Like 2 to 3mm play. I assume this requires a strip down?
