The bike is as stock as it gets, right down to the original tires. Rear will be replaced next week. 945 miles on the odo. Bought it new as a leftover in 1995, seems they didn't get very good press compared to the Suzuki of the day. While it was no WR it was fantastic in tight trails compared to my XR650L, so light and easy to ride. Doesn't take out the ligaments and tendons in your knee when the front end washes out like the 100# heavier dualsport.
What year is your KTM? My daughters boyfriend races an exc200, I think it's an 02 but not sure.
Anyone in CNY/Southern Tier NY or Northern Tier PA riding this coming weekend?
A buddy and myself are looking to go riding somewhere this saturday or possibly sunday.
Bikes are located in Elmira NY but we'd consider trailering to somewhere to ride.

The KTM is an '06. I seem to not mind the heavier DR350 dual sport in the woods, it has very composed handling for its weight. It also makes me appreciate the flickability of the 200.
With the XR it's not so much the weight but where it is, very high cg. I have always had trouble with the front end being unpredictable and washing out. Love the bike but always respect what the weight can do to you when it goes wrong.
Here's a pic, way to save some space. 2 bikes on one bike lift.
Getting close here. I remember it used to get some blowby and spooge right where the pipe meets the head while it was warming up, would seem fine at running temp. Is this normal? Pulled the pipe off and the o-rings seem nice and plyable. Anything to check for?
I am shocked, it started on the third kick idled clean and ran exactly as I remember it from 5yrs ago. Keep waiting for something to go wrong, this has been way too easy. Took a couple of easy laps around the field, so nice to hear that two stroke sound after so many years. Forgot how nice it is to ride a "lite" bike, my xr is 320 dry.
Wow, surprised! It's an off road group mostly KTM's that runs a 50mile ride every Wed night in the buffer. They meet up about a mile from my place and have been doing Wednesdays for 20yrs.
