KLX 300 forks
Could I swap stock KDX forks with KLX 300 forks with little to no effort or will there be a tough time geting them on?
Also, will these work as good on trails as other types?

Yes, just the forks and clamps are all you need for the swap. If you can score some of the stock fork guards that come on the klx like slick nick did, that would be best. Otherwise, you'll have to make kx guards fit and mickey mouse the routing on either the brake line or odo cable. The stock kdx brake caliper, wheel and axle fit the klx fork. They're just as plush as stock kdx forks without getting stuck in all the ruts.

The only thing you'll have to do is make your own routing for the KDX brake line. The KLX caliper has the hardlinethat comes under th fork, then up. Lots of KLX guys change them out for this reason, because one rock hits there, and your out a front brake. It's very easy to make the stock KDX line work. You'll see wher it needs to go once you bolt the caliper on.
Other than that, yes the stock KDX wheel, axle, odo, brake, etc all fits perfectly. You'll only need the KLX300 forks (mine are 97 but all 300's had the same forks with the exception of tube color) If the forks don't come with guards, late 90's KX125 guards are a direct fit.
You will need to respring them for your weight, unless you're the size of a horse jockey.

Good info. Wish I would have known that before. How much are these forks/clamps going for? I'm just asking for the heck of it because I already have invested in KX forks, and those are currently with a tuner setting them up for trail riding. I just like how easy this sounds. SlickNick, no additional fiddling required on valving or anything?4vman1 wrote:Yes, just the forks and clamps are all you need for the swap. Edit to add: I think you just answered this.
