hi I have a 89 kdx200 just rebuilt top and bottomend I been riding it for about 3 months and has been doing good until last Monday I was going down some power lines in 2 gear wasn't going fast I was wait for some friends to catch up and suddenly it bogged down and seized up and throughout the day the bottomend was getting louder louder .. and when I got the bike it was blown up and the crank bearings needed to be replaced because well they were bad and when I replaced them the one side bearing (I think the clutch side) was like totally gone it was only 3 balls and the 2 racists so the question is is my crank outa wack or something cause the crank bearings were brand-new so if you could help me out with that ...next question I saw a 89 (same year as the kdx) kx 125 for 100 bucks the guy says it needs 1 gear replaced but can I put the gears from the kdx into the 125 the motors look the same ? let me know .. and also going with that question are the motors same like can I bolt the kx motor up into the kdx frame with no problem and can I put the bottomend of the kx and put the kdx topend on it let me no all info will be help thanks,dustin

Engines share very little in common and are not interchangeable, parts or in whole. Chassis & some of the plastic is of a common lineage, and some of that are bolt-on swappable.

so does only a 89 kdx 200 motor fit in it or will a different year kx 125 or 250 fit in it .. just so I know what to look for as in on craiglist

Only thing I know of that will just bolt in is 89-94 KDX 200.
