Very good advise. You never know what a PO may have done. I'd take it apart before ordering anything. In answer to your earlier question, no, you do NOT need to remove the entire engine from the frame to do the top end. Sounds like you haven't purchased a manual yet. You might want to do that before going any further.

I assume once I take it apart the size will be indicated on the piston itself. I dont believe the piston was every replace, I believe everything is stock. I have no clue what boring out the piston means - I am new lol sorry guys. I will learn and hopefully be answering these questions for someone else soon lol.

I would NOT assume that to be true. The piston could have any kind of markings.

You really need to measure the piston's OD, and the cylinder bore's ID to know exactly what you have. Mine had a 66 mm piston fitted which is not standard for a 220.

If it's an aftermarket piston it will normally have markings on the crown. It might take a little scrubbing to read the. Post up a pic of it before you clean it and we can get an idea how well it's jetted and running.
