K&n filters?

Anybody ever use them? My air filter looks a little old on my 93 kdx and was going to just get a new stock one. But that k&n filter looks like you wouldn't need to oil it. I have know idea thought i'd just throw it out there see if there were any opinions.

they don't seem to be well liked here. I have never used them so I have no personal experience/opinion. I use a Uni filter and clean it after just about every ride.

Yes you do have to oil them and yes the do kinda suck !
I had one that allowed sand past the fiber filter which
never happened with the OE's or twin air.

I agree the k and N allow a lot of air but a lt500 I had seized a motor because sand got sucked in. If grains of sand can get sucked in even with a outerwear on imagine how much dust gets sucked. I bet they work good for snow mobiles where dust isn't a problem
