My first, but hopefully not last, Hybrid build...

Post by KDX220rser »

Finally talked my dad into it as his bike.. Since i got the new KTM250 i gave him the KDX.. we picked up this beauty today for $125.. the kid told use it was a 02 but it turns out it was a 99.. I dont think he knew.. Cons: It has been under water and it is missing back shock and radiators.. heres the tear down.

Frame got lots of rust, but no holes. nothing a good acid bath cant fix.

I was thinking the same thing. I dont think the extra space would cause any problems. Thanks guys..

I think I would look for a more complete 125
Use this one for additional parts as required in your build.

You could end up paying as much for a shock as a whole 125 with a blown motor.

Heck, put this front end on the current KDX for now.

well we already got the shock off ebay.. $90. not cheap, but it is in great shape. yeah we did spend more than we wanted on a junk bike, but we can make do. It will be a completely new bike we where finished. I will keep the updates coming.. Im gonna blast the frame next week then we're gonna get it dipped in somekinda acid bath to completely remove rust and coat it.
