CEL vs. CGK

Please clarify which needle is best for a stock carb, 1992 - 200 with Fatty pipe, Boyesen reeds, no snorkel, KN filter.
I've seen both mentioned here as a replacement for stock.
Jetting is PJ 48 , M 150. Should the pilot be lower? 45 or 42?
Thanks!

My understanding is CEL/DEL for rb modded carbs. CGK would be good for your e series carb. The needle jet is positioned differently in the E series carb, this is why you need a different needle than the H series guys.
I'm using a 42 pilot in my 89, but I can't say which pilot you should be using since I haven't ridden your bike. Most likely it should be smaller than a 48.

When did Sudco become dealer only?

I have ordered from them several times in the past. It has been a couple years.

SUDCO sells wholesale only to legitimate motorcycle businesses (licensed, established commercial places of business serving the general public in areas of motorcycle sales service and/or parts and accessories). <--- from their site, unless I'm missing something...

If your carb has not been modified by RB-designs then a CEL or DEL will be the needle you will want to use.
So what's the difference between CEL and CGK???
Should I go with CEL? I'm still confused
92/ 200
Fatty pipe
Boyesen reeds
stock muffler
50 M / 42 PJ
thanks

Or... what Keihin needle is equivalent to the Kaw 1173 that JF recommends?
Thanks!

There is some difference with the positioning of the jet needle in the 89-94 carb, this makes the CGK a better choice for the E series than the CEL/DEL needles. I'm not really clear on what that difference is, although I've been told, lol. I haven't tried one yet, so don't take my word for it. The JD jetting chart shows the CGK being a bit richer at the bottom end, much leaner through the mid, and pretty close up top as compared to the CEL using the same jets.
It looks like you'd need to go pretty small on the pilot with the CGK, and Morie has confirmed that with his 89. I will attempt to confirm if my guy at the shop ever orders the parts! Might just place an order with Jets R Us.
Interesting thing I just noticed, as this got me playing with JD's spreadsheet again...
38p, 150mj, CGK needle in clip 5
Is very nearly identical to
42p, 150mj, CEL needle in clip 3

Yeah, it has always been dealer only for
wholesale. They will sell
retail to anyone with a credit card.

38p, 150mj, CGK needle in clip 5 (that's bottom notch?)
Is very nearly identical to
42p, 150mj, CEL needle in clip 3
So 42P, 150MJ with the CGK will be too rich?
Would changing the clip position help?
THANKS!!!!

It was merely an observation. Looks like you can get nearly the same fuel curve using a CEL with different jets. I would go with the CGK, and have pilots in a range from 38 - 45, and mains from 148 - 155. I'd feel safe staring in the 3rd clip position with the CGK with your current jetting and work from there.
Play with this chart a bit, if you haven't. It takes some of the guesswork out. Use your current jetting as a baseline. The stock 1173n needle is equivalent to a BGP, for reference.

JF recommends 1173 needle, 45 pj, 155M, 3 clip
I got almost the same curve with 1172 (stock) 42 pj, 155 MJ , clip.
What's the advantage of using the CGK needle?

What looks good? Given that the baseline is smoking a lot.
