Suitability of 2005 kx125 for kdx200 E2 hybird question

Hi ,

I am hoping someone can give me some advice on the suitability of creating a hybrid from a kdx200 e2 and a 2005 kx125. I see there are a number using earlier kx donors - are there any issues with using the 2005 model?

Thanks in advance

Gert

'04 and '05 should be the same. I'm working on my 2nd '04 hybrid.

'03 is very similar to '04-'05, but the rear suspension is a little different.

The only downside I've found with using the most recent models is that parts aren't as easy or cheap to find as prior years.

I'm in the middle of a 2003 KX/1990 KDX build (E series engine).

The only real hiccup so far has been pipe fitment. You will need to modify a 95-up pipe to fit the E-series motor. The KIPS actuator arm on the right side of the cylinder protrudes much further on the E-series engines, and it interferes with the "low-boy" style pipe that you need for the late-model KX chassis. On the advice of well-informed sources, I got out the Big Frakking Hammer and put a big ol' dent in my shiny, new Pro Circuit pipe.

From what I understand, a PC pipe might bolt on perfectly with an H-series engine. That's what I was hoping for, but the E-series was just different enough that it wouldn't fit without a healty massage.
