KDX wheel on KX?

Why doesn't anyone use the KDX wheel in the KX 125 frame when they build their hybrid?
I took some quick measurement last night, the hubs are the same lenght and it fits in the swingarm if you use the KX axle and spacers.
I haven't got my engine back from the mechanics so I don't know about alignment front / rear sprocket? Seems it should be fine when I compare KX and KDX wheel, the sprocket appears to be in the same position.

Am I missing something?

After 02 the size of the axle bolt got bigger on the kx,but before that they are the same.I have a 99 kdx 18" rear on my hybrid.

Thanks, mine is an 02 so it won't be a problem :supz:
I'm probably gonna keep it as a spare, I just realized I damaged it with the tire irons (that's what happens when your technique suuuucks) and found some dents (nothing much probably about 2-3 mm in 2-3 spots on each sides) :?

I was just searching about this and found that the outer diameter is the same on the 2003 kx125 as the kdx rear so I might be able to make the kdx rear wheel fit on the kx by going with a 25x42x12mm bearing and use the sleeve from a kx and spacers??

If the OD is the same, the KX bearings should fit in the KDX hub, then you'd be good to go using the KX axle and spacers, right?

I had poor luck finding a bearing that would allow me to use the KDX wheel on my 2003 KX hybrid. I had two bearing supply houses searching. If you find one let me know I would like to use the 18" KDX wheel.

25x42x9 is what the kx takes 2 on the sprocket side and one on the brake side. you can get 2) 25x42x12 and try out the stock bearing spacer and wheel to swinger spacers from the kx might be wize to get some 25mm i.D shim washers the standard kdx rear bearing is 12mm thick

I was looking for a 20x35x11 bearing to get the front wheels to work on the kx but they are not made so one would have to see if there is enough meat to the kdx front hub to have it blind bored to fit the kx 20x37x9 bearing...probably not worth it because the machinist would more than likely require the rim be taken off the hub
