Over the weekend lost the nut that holds my kickstart lever on.
'Anyone know what size that rascal is?
And no, I'm not that lazy, I'm just at work but wanted to stop on my way home to pick it up.

I don't know the size either, but I got one from a NAPA store, they had a bin of grade 8 nuts and let me try a few out to find the right one. I had my bike in the truck when I noticed it missing. Got it on my way out riding. I put loctite on the new one, never had a problem since.

Lost mine also. Just go to Ace hardware or a Tractor suppy store. They both have good selections of metric size nuts. Couldn't tell ya what size i got it's been awhile.

If it's 12mm....
12mm x 1.25 = fine
12mm x 1.5 = coarse
There are of course other pitches...

If you use a thread-locker..keep it only on the threads...keep it off the splines, else you may well have a dickens of a time getting the thing off (the knuckle..not the kicker) next time you have to.
Someone probably told me that at one time.......
So...what size was it? 12x1.25? Going to keep us all in suspense?
...I liked the koolaide avatar.....

I lost the nut and bloody the kick lever mechanism last July. I ordered the OEM stuff (plus took the time to actually torque it to spec!) and I bought a spare nut from ACE as well. Btw, I'm always amazed at how much time the good folks at ACE will spend with me for what often ends up being a 50 cent nut or bolt. Anyway . . .

I do use a thread lock agent on that fastener...ALSO give the threads a couple of healthy smacks with a punch to assist with retainment.
That's not a locking nut, right? Maybe not room for a nylon insert there, but they could've used the metal retainer version. Those are kind'a spendy, though.
This week has had me to a local ACE store four times trying to get 'a' part. The time they spent with me was nice..although I would've preferred they hadn't talked to me at all. That way they could not have convinced me I was wrong about needing an FHT coupler..and selling me a NPT piece instead.
Of course...if Karcher used a decent fitting in the first place it would've lasted longer than being twice connected.
Such is life.

12x1.25 fit. Well, the nut is sorta wide, like maybe a thread too wide but it'll work.
