Amsoil Interceptor

Well, I tried it. And I gotta tell ya, if you want to ditch the spoo coming out your tail pipe, then this is the stuff!!!

I was a steadfast user of Maxima Super M

But noticed that the bike would spooge like crazy. So one day I decided to support our Forum master and buy a gallon of the Amzoil stuff. I drained my gas tank and mixed up a batch of this oil at 40:1 with premium pump gas. Within the hour, my smoke plume was almost non-existant and there was no more drool. Great!!!

Other benefits I've noticed;
The bike starts much easier now. Almost always on the first kick and even then, it's a half-hearted jab at the kick lever.

I feel more power in the mid band. My bike is pretty well jetted but I can feel an improvement of performance from the down-low grunt up through the mid rpm range. I'm able to let it grunt and not have to shift as often.

2nd gear is now a bit scary because of the increased torque. It's very easy to rev out and pull the front end skyward no matter how far over the tank I'm positioned.

So, I recommend using this stuff:

I'm impressed with the Interceptor as well given how little fouling/carbonization it leaves behind . . .

here's a pic of my kiddo's RM65 piston after running with the stuff (and yes, the piston was due to be changed):

FWIW - I did get spoo running the Interceptor, though, until I installed Ron's head mod (for race gas), started running race gas, and retarded the timing. In fact, I advanced the timing on the RM65 - still on the Interceptor - and since have noticed some spoo. Makes me wonder how bad it would be if I ran that "other" sludgy stuff!!

When I changed rings several weeks back I noticed how well the Interceptor lubricated the piston. It was downright slimy and made it tough to hold the piston still to change the rings. I checked on the KIPS assy and it was in great shape. A little of the Interceptor rubbed onto the parts would dissolve what was sticking which wasn't much, and that's after running it all year long.

I second the nomination!!

I use Amsoil Dominator. I like it. I don't know how it differs from the Interceptor. Anyone know?

I saw the Amsoil link at the top but didn't know what it was for. is it an online store or something? Does the site get a kickback if I order some through it?

Using Dominator here, really great oil that runs great @ 32:1 to 50:1. I am only using it becuase it's cheap at my local place, $30 per gallon. Maxima K2 was a little better in every way for me, but It's significantly more expensive.
