KX 500 fork in a KDX 250. (DONE)

I finished swapping the 93 KX 500 usd forks into my 94 KDX 250. I changed the seals and oil, so I got a good look at the guts of both models. The only common parts are the upper tubes. The internals are totally different. Lower tubes are different length. Bolted right up to stock KDX triple clamps. I retained the KDX wheel by machining spacers that clamp to the KX forks and doing away with the odometer drive (which I don't use). You could save the machining part by just buying a kx axle, right side spacer and nut. Caliper bolted right up. I did have to bend the steel brake line a little bit. Easy swap in my opinion. Now I have to test ride it, but that won't be for a few weeks.

What are the advantages of the KX500s over the KDX250s?
I might suspect just about everything, but do you have specific expectations?

I was told they are the same as a KX 250. I would have gotten either, but I got these off ebay for $60. I read that the KX fork are a large improvement over the stock KDX forks. I tried posting pictures a while back, but couldn't get them to post. Maybe someone can give me tips.

Do you have a Photobucket account? Thats what I use. Upload then cut and paste the embed code.
Do the KX forks have rebound and compression clickers while the KDX only has compression? They have to be at least stiffer.

The KDX 250 had marshmallow fluff instead of springs. They are great if you weigh a buck o' five but not much more. You could almost bottom the stockers out buy unloading it from your truck/ trailer.

I think the 500 forks were a major upgrade for only $60, what a deal.

Re: 'Maybe someone can give me tips.'
This is probably in the FAQ someplace..but basically:
Post your pics in the KDXRider gallery, then include the properties of the pic in your thread using the [img] tags. The picture will show in the thread. You find the link by right clicking the displayed pic (not the thumbnail..the picture itself), hilighting 'Properties' and copying/pasting via the clipboard into your post.
A post with a pic IN it will have this (example) in it:

http://kdxrider.net/forums/modules/albu ... ed_too.jpg[/img]
You see the URL above and NOT the pic, cuz I disabled BBCode in this post.
Now...it's test time.
Post a reply in this thread the PICTURE (not the link) that the above URL points to.
You can also use some other pic posting site as noted above.

I was tryin' to cipher the color code you've got going with the jacket/shorts combo . . . at first glance it looks somewhere betwixt ALPHA-KILO-ECHO and LIMA-INDIGO-NOVEMBER . . . wait a minute, I see the white socks - a distress signal perhaps?
