Can someone tell me if the spoke and rims from a 2003 and up KTM will fit a 2002 KX250? I know, I know, not a KDX question. Hell, maybe a KDX and KX are the same spoke pattern.
Anyways, there's an auction on eBay for a set of rims and spokes for a KTM that I would like to get if they fit my KX.
Thanks for the help.

Rims aren't a question. Problem is the spokes matching the KX hub. There are several different fitment issues..angle, length, head design..
No. I don't know. Chances of them working? Zero+ 1/2 one longshot.
I didn't see that you answered an earlier question..you have Excels on your KX now? What bike has the black rims?

the burned up KX had the black Excels; a 20" in front and a 18" in the rear. An auction on eBay has a set of 21 and 18 black excel rims in the width I want and with spoke sets, brand new, for KTM and wondered if they would fit a Kawasaki hub.
The current KX has stock rims. I assume they are not Excels from the factory.

In my pics your old KX had silver rims. I wasn't sure when the 'back in black' came about.
Check out Buchannan spokes 'fer example. Same set for KX/KTM?
I checked their website..but they don't list much for the punkin. Any bike shop could tell you, I s'pose. I'm not finding much on the web for spoke listings........sorry.
Point is, if they sell the same set for the two bikes, you should be OK.
Maybe beside the point..but Moose has black rims that are supposedly 'good' and whole lot less $$ than Excel hoops.
I thought you were a 20" believer anyway....

I figured at $250 for the set, front, rear rims and spokes, that it would be a good enough deal. I'm wanting an 18" rear rim so I can try out a trials tire. I'd buy a 19" trials but they don't make them!!
Here's the KX with the black rims on them. I think they were on about 4 months before the fire or so.

Nothing. What can you tell me? What is the cost difference and such?

Only that I saw a set..was told they cost 'a lot less' tha Excels. I know there IS such a thing..that's about it.
I just looked one up...a 2.15x18 for $99:

Three stage heat treatment for the highest available strength Designed for use with OEM hubs, spokes, and nipples. But it won't have that Excel gold writing on them. That is significant to performance after all.
I'm just shopping right now anyways, not buying. Well, not buying bike parts unless a real deal comes along. I am buying landscaping plants. I've got 21 pine and redwood trees I have to stick in the ground. They are in 15 gallon pots. My soil is pretty rocky so it ain't easy to dig a hole times 21 in this ground. Wanna come help me?

So that's Wib's fetish; seeing the penis in fenders. Watch out Wib, and don't let me AND that fender follow you through the woods. It'll sneak up on you and give you a poke!! Ha!!
The fender is a Polisport for a KTM.
