OK, just starting the demolition on my two donors...'02 KX125 and '00 KDX200. This is going to be a hare scramble bike so hopefully it turns out as good as I expect. I was planning on dumping some money into it but I think I might just do the miniumum for now and see if I even like it. If so, I'll spend a few bucks on it and get the suspension setup for me. Here we go...

KDX getting ready to get chopped...

All done. It doesn't look like enough parts to build a bike, does it?

Come on in here miss 125, you're gonna get it!....

This is where I stopped and called it a night....

I'm a Honda guy so all of this green is making my head hurt! I thought about making it all black and keep the gold rims...just for something different.

Expect to see some KDX parts in the FS section very soon!

Snow? It's 80 degrees here! I did all this work in board shorts and flip flops sweating like a pig. Hah! I've only been in snow once in my whole life! I bet that's hard to believe for you Canadians, eh?

Only once in snow?

It's 36 here.....go ahead and rub it in

Bet you're not much of a skier...eh?

Thanks, I just built them a few days ago along with a smaller version for my clean parts that go inside my 3rd bedroom...I have a lot of parts.

Just got the 125 torn down...she was a fighter! Stuck swingarm bolt and still can't remove the bolt that connects linkage and frame. Time to bust out the wheel cleaner and pressure washer and clean everything. Should be fun....

Didn't get too much done today but I did remove the old motor mounts and started on the rear head stay. Gotta smooth the frame and remove the head to get better access with a grinder...

Hey weelz, looking good.

Just a FYI

I used the KX throttle assembly and the KX throttle cable. I found that the mechanism in the KX throttle assembly was smoother pulling than the KDX one. Just felt like a better part. You have to use the KX cable, though

I agree. I used the KX throttle and KDX cable though. The KDX brass micro adjuster just needed to be trimmed 1/4 inch.

Finally got the mounts fabbed and welded in. I just rattled canned the frame with PJ1 Kawi Green. It turned out pretty good. Here are some pics..
