I have a question maybe someone can help with. I have a stock '06 KDX200. I see that Jeff Fredette recommends a .38 fork spring for my weight (175 lbs.). Race Tech's website recommends a .42 spring for my weight. Any feedback on the difference in the weights? Thanks in advance.

Race Tech is always too heavy. Go with Jeff's recommendations.

Jeff's recommendation for .38 springs covers the 95-02 KDX's. Are the 2006 forks the same as they were in 2002?

I have a hunch that Race Tech specs a heavier spring be used with their Gold Valve. There are specific designs characteristics in the GV that require a heavier spring to compensate for this difference. Fredette specs for a stock BV.

Is that 175 in gear? If so, then .38's will do.... IMO a .40 would do best. As cloent stated, the XR springs are the way to go!

In my case, Race Tech was spot on
Fredette's recommendation was no better than stock
