I was thinking off doing the air box mod but wanted to know if I would have to rejet?

The bike is stock 88 kdx200 right now my idle is too low and stalls out. The air scew wont do a dam thing. I didnt take the choke apart so I think it lacks air.

I was going to start it up with the lid off and see how it sounds. And then drill 6-8 small holes.

While im in there, Can I use 2 stroke oil for the filter?

I won't comment on the jetting since I do not know if the older bikes came jetted rich from the factory. My 06 sure did.

Do you not have an idle (not air) screw that you can use to raise the slide a little for faster idle?

Two stroke oil is not the best for the air filter. If you are in there anyway, take it out, clean it, and oil it properly with foam filter oil. Two stroke is much thinner than foam filter oil and not as sticky. It might actually migrate down the intake and cause as many problems as it solves.

Yeah I have a idle srew its just not doing anything. My bad the air screw is plugged so i cant mess with it.
