I thought my kdx had stock gearing but its at 13-47 (The most popular)
I just bought a 12-49 set, so were going from 3.62 ratio to 4.08!
NO ONE in the survey runs this, I guess I'll eat it and buy a 13 counter shaft. I was looking for a little more wheel lift right off the bottom in 2nd...

Try the 12-toother with the stock rear 47t . . .

and 13/47 is stock gearing

Well going from a 3.62 ratio to 4.08 should certainely do that! The 13/49 would be @ 3.77 which would fall in between. Why do you need to buy another 13T? Is yours worn out? You might find you like swapping between the 12/13T fronts depending on conditions/area.

My 13 is worn and the rear was missing a few teeth

but he DOES get to ride those steep Oregonian hillsides. Geez, I've been there three times in as many months and the last two times I drove 26 east out of Portland to Zigzag, I love that kind of country. I remember when I mentioned ditching my headlight Wibs posted that he couldn't do without a headlight. I thought he must be blind . . . until I walked around in Mt. Hood Nat'l Forest. That's where all of the tales of the deep, dark woods come from!!
