Aftermarket gas tank?

Posted: 01:12 pm May 18 2007

About the only complaint I have against my beloved KDX is the shape of the tank. I wish the tank was more flat and easier to get more weight forward on the bike during hillclimbs.

I understand that IMS makes an aftermarket tank. Does anyone else? Clarke? Does anyone have any pictures of the IMS tank? Their website does not show any pictures.

Thanks, Steve

I haven't e-mailed them since to find out if they have them ready.

I'm really interested in how much gas it'll hold.

They finally show it, 3.6 gals.

Hummmmm I was hope'n they'd get closer to 4 gals. Comes in blk, nat, green, & white.

Stock 2.9,,, 3.6 that should be +/- 90 miles per tank, shouldn't it?

Looks like I'll have a natural one in the near future.

WEll to the original post I would say you could put a tall seat foam and this helps.

NOW those Clark tanks are nice, What color would allow you to see the gas?
WHITE or NATURAL?

"Natural" allows you to see the gas.

Dear scheckaet,

I'm a owner of a KDX 220 with a IMS gas tank and I love it.

I have a lot of engine mods (VForce 3, Rev Pipe, Bored Carb, etc) and I want to put KX125 fork on my bike.

But, does the IMS gas tank fits the Inverted fork as well as a KDX fork???

I have pics of the clear IMS with the shrouds in my gallery. I have since added the tall seat foam and it's the shizit.
