Fork Spring Rate

Sorry about the million and one questions but I appreciate all the help.
The time has come for me to order some springs for my 91 kdx from mr Fredette as I have given up looking for XR springs. Ive bean to race tech which recomends me going for a .395kg spring so I thought Id go with the .38kg spring.
I weigh 65kg without gear
Mr Fredette recommends .33kg springs which I thought was a bit light im assuming this setup would be for woods riding.
What do you guys think.

Also if I order .38kg springs from fredette would I use the stock preload spacer?

At 143lbs, I really think the stock "H" series kdx springs will work out for you. You're a little heavy on them, but the fact that you can get them dirt cheap from here or ebay makes it a logical purchase. The springs are .35kg rated.

How much better are kdx cartridge forks than my 91 non cartridge because I can get a set of 95 forks for the price id be paying for fredette springs, only prob is there still only .35kg weight springs.

I ride alot of deep whoops and sand and my bikes always see sawing so I cant get much speed up. I like to ride full throttle so would .5kg stiffness be enough of an upgrade. And what oil should I use im thinking of 10wt

They'll be better especially after working over the base valve stack.

So given the places I ride do I get the 95 kdx forks (remember these only have.345kg springs) with cartridge and possible needing of recondition or the .38kg fredette springs with my stock 91 kdx forks thanks.

Given the forks are in good shape... sounds good.

So you all recommend the 95 forks im still wondering cause there softer springs

I will pick up my new bike soon. 2005 KDX 200. Being a novice rider, I am not ready to hop it up quite yet. However, I probably will upgrade the forks with race tech gold valve stuff. Just for comparative purposes, does anyone know what the spring rate is on the stock forks (2005)? I purchased the 'online' manual, but it isn't that specific. Sorry to butt in on this thread, but it seemed relevant (kinda sort of). Thanks.

Should be .35kg

You'd be mad not to hold off for a set of KX forks for that type of terrain, but saying that anything is an improvment over stock.

So seeing the 95+ springs are gonna cost me half the price or less of fredette springs. Is it worth spending twice the price to get .3kg stiffer springs or would .35kg be enough to stop the see saw motion on whoops.

When was your shock serviced? (assuming it's set up corectly)
I realised mine was shot after my KX conversion I use to get the same see saw problem.

The shock is set up with sag 100mm, the clickers all work, however ive actually never serviced my shock but it works fine, the dampening is all good, I just find that without going over the bumps on the rear wheel if I let the front wheel drop then I get the see saw motion going.

Mine were still working (clikers), I could feel a difference BUT decided to check it out anyway and what I found was coffee looking oil and no N2 left  (last shock service was at least 2 years ago...)
So keep that in mind. Find out when was the shock serviced, if it's been more than a year I would at least do a good cleaning, replace oil and N2. It is really a simple job, can be done in 1 afternoon with basic tools and the manual.
