I thought I read somewhere on here that I could throw some XR 400 springs straight into the 220 forks to improve the suspension. I got some from a friend and tried...they are not the correct length to put in with the spacers or without.

Has anyone tried what I am trying or knows what I should do to make it right? (without cutting the spacers).

Cut your own spacers out of Schedule 40 PVC... 1 1/2"

I take it that's 1.5" diameter...cool, I'll figure out how long by measuring the stock springsspacer combo.

I used 1/2" PVC Schd 40 glue couplings. I cut them to about 3/4" long on a table saw (watch your fingers!)
1 1/2" diameter is way to big, a typo I suspect

Your right... make that 1 inch.
