seen oem front brake lines go for about $80 . what about steel braided lines ? are they worth it? some say you can get them for about $50. if so where ? even if they end up being a little more then oem they might be worth it right?

I'll post the EBAY Link for the Guy I get them from. He's in the UK, complete set is around $40 & you get them by Airmail, within 5 days.

I bought some from him too for my KX250. Good deal!
SS lines make a big difference. It's like power brakes since the lines don't streach. Especially during hard braking like steep and long down hills. Much easier to control the feel too. I could tell preciesly when my brakes were about to lock up.

Too bad he doesn't offer brake caliper rebuild kits too. I might get braided lines, thanks for the tip.

This is what the kx's have correct?
Does anyone know a good fix for the rear wheel lock with the rear brake?
I just installed new pads and it locks whenever i'm on a nasty downhill.

Thats going to happen. Use the front brake even more than the rear

I bought the 99-01? KX Braided Line. The rear is a little longer than the KDX, BUT all you do is LOOP IT in the area of the Master Cylinder.

Whoa cowboy!
No way a KX with the long brakeline routing is going to work on a CR or 'high' brakeline bike. Besides that..the banjo fittings are different angles.
Tell the man what you want..and he will likely know..SHOULD know. No reason to worry what kind'a KX year fits the KDX brake routing. Tell him you want SS lines for your KDX!
If THAT won't work, at least choose a KX model that has the front brakeline routed high...like they've been for a few years at least I think.
To put it another way:
so the 99-01 should fit ?front and rear even with my OEM Kawi forks??
Nope. Nyet. Nadir nanoo nono.
GH has the LONG (under the fork) front line. Pics are in his gallery.
**edit**
I just asked him about KDX stuff..hi-routed lines and such. I'll let you know what he says.

I routed mine above- KDX Style to the KDX Caliber. It does fit. I did not like the under the leg fitment. I do not know what is longer the KX or KDX Line. For fact the rear KX line is longer, but it does work

Please correct my errors:
Does your gallery not show the under the fork routing?
You took an under the fork line, ran it OVER the fork (hi style)? Where did all the extra length go?
There are two lines on your fork. I took the hi one to be an odo pickup. That is not correct? What's the low line?
I'm cornfused.

Brad-You're right in this photo. That is what it is. The new kit I bought I routed the line like the KDX or where the OD line goes. I just don't have picks yet

OK..so where did all the extra length go to on the front brake line? Going down, under, around and back is a lot further than going AROUND the fork leg.
