Does it really matter if you get KX 125 forks or KX 250 forks? are they same? and what about price difference? ( I know it depends on WHERE i get them, but is there a universally accept lower price for smaller CC bike forks?)

Proly around the same price.... only difference is spring rate. The KX 125 forks have a closer acceptable rate for woods work, usually around .41 or .42 where as the KX 250 forks will have a rate around .44 to .46

Some 250's have rubber mounted bars. My 2001 does.

Hey, then. If I put 2004 KX125 gear on my 2003 KDX220 and I weigh 200 pounds without gear, are you suggesting that the stock 125 springs might be okay for me and my desert single-track? My KDX is set for a 150-pounder, and frankly, I kind of like it soft (it could be a little firmer, I suppose).

Please see my "Parting out his girlfriend's KX125 just for me" thread. :)

Thanks,

Rick

The KX forks I have feel softer on little stuff, and firmer on big stuff than the stock forks did. I barely feel the little 4" bumps now. Might be something to do with 20 year newer technology, I just know I like them way better.

How does the valving for the 125 compare to the 250, and how does that compare on trails?

Stock valving on my 03 KX 125 forks is a little stiff and I am revalving this winter. To make them right for you and your riding situation, first you must ride with them to determine what you want them to do better.
Mine are actually pretty close just by messing with the clickers but there is room for improvement.
