I have the same problem with the stem I ordered from FRP, I have mine also, I still have to call Jeff & find out WHY there is a problem with it not fitting into the TT

I had to press the stem out of my KDX TT's to finish the conversion. Something I was trying to avoid. I'm not sure if the stem is pre 96, thus requiring Knurling.

This is still a fork conversion and the same general rules apply so i'd ask Vince to move it to the USD fork conversion section.

Yeah who woulda thought a Kaw fender wouldn't bolt up to Zuki trees
Nothing that a little bit of drilling can't fix. I've got a black Zuki front fender on my KDX!

Here's the current condition of my Triumph

BTW... if you buy a aftermarket fender... the holes aren't predrilled. At least the last few I have bought. Gotta be careful to get them straight. Nothing sucks more than having a front fender cockeyed....

Foots - your doing what I wanted to do. The Showa convential forks should be the ultimate KDX fork conversion for trail riding IMHO.

When I was looking and bidding it seemed like I was destined to own a number of sets until the last last minute or so of the auction: then they would skyrocket price wise. Let us know how they work out.

I agree....at least from what I've read. USU's setup correctly are supposedly superior forks esp for woods work. It's just that the one's on the KDX suck. Underhang is still a problem, but nothing like the KDX-ers...

I rode a friends XR650R in the woods and was amazed at how nice the front forks were. They are conventionals, I would think Showas, since Honda uses them a lot. but they did very well on rocky slow speed stuff.

NICE! :supz:

That was a very sweet conversion. BEEFY RSU with minimal underhang.... I commend you on this conversion and would love to compare your setup to a USD conversion.

I agree w/ Vince! Very nice. The only experience I've had w/ a good set of USU forks was on hid old KTM, and I loved those even in stock form. Still wish I had bought that thing from you!
