crank bearings stuck on crankshaft
Split my cases for the millionth time, because my transmission wasnt shifting right (still tryna figure out why). Anyways I'm wondering if I can just assemble the cases with the bearing on the crankshaft, or how to get the bearing out? Also, when I do get the bearing out do I have to replace it? Its a brand new bearing and im sick of buying new bearings this is going to be my 3rd time, because of all my bearings getting stuck on the crank.. (I keep having to split because the liquid gasket is not working correctly and causing leaks, I split the cases and boom the gasket is just gone?? like it vanishes into thin air. Or just my transmission isnt shifting right.)

Re: crank bearings stuck on crankshaft
Are you familiar with how a KDX shifts when just sitting (completely assembled and working properly). For me, I have to rock back and forth or move some to get it to shift. It is not like a car or truck.
Which liquid gasket are you using? Hopefully Kawabond 5 or similar.

I believe im using yamabond. Also for the transmission part, it shifts but sometimes when i shift the whole transmission gets completely locked up or harder to turn and so does the shift drum and shift star gets locked up, ill post a link to one of my reddit posts that shows a little how the transmission was acting.

Always used Yamabond 4 with good results. To properly shift it on the bench you have to spin the countershaft by hand which it looks like you're doing. Are you sure your shift pawls and drum are properly aligned. Looks like the star gear is in the wrong spot based on your video, but it's kind of hard to see. It's a case splitting time again. You can use some heat on the bearing to help get it off the crank. If its on straight and fully seated you could probably just leave it on and reassemble, I have done that in the past with little or no issue. Have you verified all your stack ups are correct per the service manual? A couple of thrust washers and spacers that are critical to everything lining up and working correctly.

Re: crank bearings stuck on crankshaft
sounds like u have a situation where the two pieces are machined pretty close so when u assemble the two there's no space left for sealant and it just gets squirted out when everything gets tightened. I've learned in the past to apply an even bead of sealant and let it setup where u have a semi dry skin and the center is still soft and assemble where it just barely touches all the way around and let it set for a while. after the outer layer has firmed up but the inside is still soft u can tighten and that helps with the sealant squirting out. I use Yamabond but in the old days people would use 3m weatherstrip adhesive(yellow) before all the new stuff came out. there is dedicated case sealer if u like to use that

Re: crank bearings stuck on crankshaft
How do u apply the sealent? Paint brush or?
Also by stack ups you mean stuff like washers etc right?
Is there a certain way to install the shift drum and turret?
I already split the cases and its still having the same issue with the transmission.

Also if you're talking about how the thing (dont know what its called), if you're talking about how it looks like its in the middle of the grooves of the shift turret thats because when I try to shift it it gets stuck in between and gets locked up.
