Carburetor help

Hey all, I am currently trying to get my late dads KDX going but I am not very familiar with bikes. I've gotten the bike to start no idle, when taking apart the carby I wasn't sure if something was broken or not. In one photo with the arrows pointing to the two holes next to the main jet, one you can see through into the chamber and the other you cannot - is this how they should be? Also what are they?
Second question about the second photo, is this my pilot jet? It is in a different location to where it shows me in my KDX manual.
Any help is greatly appreciated thanks in advance guys.
Cheers

Is this an SR model KDX? Or 1987 & older off-road air cooled model?

The brass thing is the pilot jet. A small flat head screwdriver takes it out. Watch some carby videos on Youtube to see a tear down.
Good luck with the work! Keep at it.

As said by kdx garage it's best to state the model and year as there are a few variations of the kdx which also varies from country to country too
Maybe a couple more photos of the outside of the carb to verify what it is, at first I thought keihin pe28mm but the pilot jet is different so guessing mikuni of which I have zero experience

Thanks mate, I’ve got it all stripped following the workshop manual and some YouTube videos! Just wanted to find out some info before putting it back together.

Thanks mate, I’ll post some photos of the carby and bike! The frame is an 86, and from what I was able to find with the engine number:DX200CE006227 it says it is out of a 1987 KDX200 C2. Yes it’s a mikuni carb also.

It is a 1987 KDX200-D1 frame. The engine could be a "C" model or "D" model, but I will guess "D" as normally no one swaps a motor, so there is a greater chance it is the same engine that it was sold with. I do not think the "C" and "D" are vastly different. The 1989 and newer "street legal" KDX's were quite different, but the 1987 and 1988 D1 and D2 were not.
That carb looks like a normal 1987 carb. The choke tower is on the left, but a lever allows use from the right side due to the air box being on the left side. There was no air screw to adjust.

Sometimes, I surprise myself.

I have dug into my digital KDX hoard. Ladies and gentlemen, I present the 1987 KDX200-D1.

USA did not get this model. Some differences I can see on the brochure, plus what I remember are blinkers, speedo, battery, headlight and brakelight, mirrors. Also, the "D" version came with "TYRES" what the hell ever that is. Not sure on that one.

I’ll look into these! Mine does have a genuine headlight and indicator switch on it, but no battery or speedo/speedometer. Looking to get it road registered eventually so I will have to go through these forums for some advice on the best way to set up the electrical side on these bikes!
